Aroi Mak Mak @ Section 17, Petaling Jaya

Aroi Mak Mak does a decent job at conveying clean, clear Thai flavours, imbued with ingredients that taste respectably fresh & nuanced. Our lunch here was a cornucopia of well-portioned crowd-pleasers - pomelo salad with prawns (RM25), tom yam filled with assorted seafood (RM30), tenderly gelatinous stewed pork leg (RM30), a light pineapple curry chicken (RM23) & fried vegetable ferns with garlic (RM15), each executed with an easy confidence that's the hallmark of a capable restaurant.

  1. Adoi Mak Mak!!! I so love the food here. Isn't that midin, our local jungle fern? I hear it is hard to come by over at your side. Pomelo salad reminds me of one of my favourite places here, Payung - that is one dish we would always order when we drop by there. Pork leg!!! Ooooo...ecstasy!!!

  4. I had guessed right that this place was previously "Spicy Thai" Restaurant which served very delicious Thai cuisine too. I must go and try it out.
